Australian Open

The Australian Open left me behind with some mixed feelings. I am really happy about my 2nd place in Fridays heats but disappointed I messed up semi finals. Overall I am happy with my results. I did some very hard training in the weeks prior to te race and I am was glad I could convert my training effort into a very fast run on Friday. It's early in the season and there is lots of time to make things more consistent until the season really starts in june.

I will be in Penrith for about one more week for the last block of training on the Sydney 2000 Olympic white water course. I am looking forward to this last week of training with my coach Han Bijnen before I go back home to the cold in Europe. The next thing up after returning home will be a training camp and a race in Leipzig - Germany in the end of march.
