Results & Goals

For me to succeed in canoe slalom is to realise my maximal potential on the moment that really matters. That is the Olympic Games, the highest level at which my sport is practised. On the start line it just comes to water, gates and me. The gates are setting the boundary, and I try to bend and brake finding the fastest way down the course. Being one with the water, feeling its energy and converting it to great speed.
It's more than a full time job. It's a way of life.”
This quote describes the philosophy I have to strive for my goals. My goal is the London 2012 Olympic Games and my dream is to ascend the podium and hear the Dutch National anthem play. At this point, a medal just has one color for me. Afterwards there might be three.
“To know what yout body want's, to understand what it needs and what it doesn't you need to be
part engineer, part mathematician, part artist, part mystic.”
Serious goals ask for great commitment, determination and believe. Three success factors my coach believes in. See all the people I work with in the ‘team section’.
